English Version
The "Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku Hotel" is located around 5 minutes walking from the south exit of Shinjuku JR Train Station, in a quite area. Close to the hotel we can find some restaurants, coffee shops and small supermarkets of 7Eleven type.
The hotel reception is located in the basement floor. It is very wide area, with chairs, sofas and tables where you can rest and get relaxed. The reception counter area has several desks where the checkin can be done. The staff speaks english, they are friendly and caring. While doing the checkin, they provided us with our suitcases that were sent directly from Osaka, by means of the "Takkyubin" or “TA-Q-BIN” service offered by the Black Cat Yamato company. It is possible to leave your suitcases at reception while visiting the city for free.
This hotel has no spring waters ( Onsen ), and this is a negative point compared to other hotels.
There are several floors, with rooms with washing machines and dryers ( they are working with coins ).
Our room was located in the 13th floor. From the room we heard the noise from the corridor, mainly because the room was closed to the elevators. The views from the room are not remarkable.
The Double Economic room has 16 squere meters. The floor of the room is on carpet. Just by the door, it can be found a small space with a shelf and some hangers where we can organize our clothes. This space is tiny. The room has no wardrobe.
The bathroom is small. The style is typically japanish. As always, the TOTO toilet is present, with all its multiple washing options. The hotel offers different toiletries, although the shower gel and the shampoo are refillable.
The bed is quite uncomfortable, as one of the sides is blocked by the wall. There are several pillows to accomodate your head. In front of the bed, there is a Plasma TV, with some international TV channels a CNN or CCTV. Over the bed you can find the traditional yukatas, that can be used as a pyjama.
The room has an Air Conditionned system.
The TV is located over a shelf acting as a desk in front of the bed. The room furniture is completed with a chair. Below this shelf, there is a water heater to prepare coffee or tea. There is also a small fridge. Only the first day, we were provided with a set of bottles of water as a courtesy. As this trip was our honeymoon, they left a bottle of champagne and a greetings card. This was a nice present.
From my point of view, this hotel has a very high price for the services offered ( 5 Nights from Friday to Wednesday by 695,48€ on April 2017, by booking in the web https://es.hoteles.com/ and using a discount code. The booking does not include breakfast ).
If you are looking for a great location, this hotel is a good option. However, considering the services offered by such a price, I would look for other alternatives if I have to stay in Tokyo again.
