El albergue dispone de dos módulos, uno bastante antiguo y uno más moderno. Nosotros nos hemos alojado en una habitación doble con baño propio en el módulo más nuevo.
La recepción del albergue se encuentra en el módulo nuevo. En un mismo espacio convive la recepción, junto a un pequeño comedor donde se dan los desayunos y un pequeño lobby con varios sillones donde descansar.

Las habitaciones son bastante amplias, con un estilo austero, pero muy limpias. En la recepción nos entregan las sábanas con las que hacer las camas y las toallas para el baño.

El mobiliario es muy austero. La habitación dispone de unas pequeñas mesillas a ambos lados de la cama. También encontramos una estantería donde podemos colocar nuestra ropa. En esta estantería tenemos una pequeña caja fuerte. Completa el mobiliario de la habitación una pequeña mesa a modo de escritorio con su correspondiente silla y un pequeño sillón.
El suelo es de tarima muy confortable.
La habitación no dispone de armarios, ni nevera, ni televisión. Tampoco disponemos de un termo de agua caliente con el que podemos preparar café o té.
El acceso Wifi en las habitaciones es gratuito.
El baño también es pequeño, sobre todo la ducha. Su estilo es moderno y está limpio, que es lo más importante.

Nuestra habitación, situada en la segunda planta no era ruidosa.
El personal del hotel es muy atento y educado. Incluso algún miembro del personal de la recepción sabe hablar español.
La reserva del albergue incluye desayuno ( aunque éste no es muy variado: tostadas, cereales, y poco más ). Además con la reserva se nos entrega una tarjeta de transporte público que permite coger los autobuses que transitan por Interlaken. También nos proporciona acceso a la magnífica piscina pública situada a poca distancia del Casino Kursaal, al otro lado del río.

Si tuviera que repetir visita en Interlaken, probablemente me volvería alojar en este albergue siempre que hubiera habitaciones dobles con baño propio disponible. Salvo en el otro albergue de la localidad ( http://www.youthhostel.ch/en/hostels/interlaken ) es difícil encontrar un alojamiento más barato con una calidad similar.

The "Backpackers Villa Sonnenhof Hostel" is a great option to stay in Interlaken, Switzerland.
This Youth Hostel is located 1 km away from Interlaken Ost train station. To reach the hostel from this train station, it is possible to stroll for around 15 minutes or you can take bus #102 direction 'Interlaken West' till 'Sonnenhof' bus stop that is very close to the hostel main entrance.
The hostel has 2 buildings. One of them is old and the other one is quite new. We stayed in a double room with private shower/toilet in the new building.
The hostel reception is located in the new module. In the same area we can find the reception, together with a small dining room where breakfast is served, and a small lobby with several couches where you can take a rest.
The new building design is very sober. The bare concrete corridors take you to the rooms. In our case, we stayed in room 84 on the second floor.
The rooms are wide, in a spartan style but very clean. In the reception you get your sheets for you to do yourself your bed and the towels for the bathroom.
The bed is a double bed, quite big and confortable.
The pieces of furtniture in the room are sober too. In the room we can find some bedside tables on both sides of the bed. You can also find a shelf where you can place your clothes. In this shelf there is a small safe. Close to the shelf we have a small table acting as a desk with its own chair and a small armchair.
The floor is made on a very confortable wooden flooring.
Unfortunately in the room there is no wardrobe, or fridge or a TV. There are no tee/coffee making facilities... This is a hostel.
The Wifi access in the rooms is free.
Our room, located on the second floor, was quiet.
The hotel staff is very polite and caring. Even there are some members at the reception that can speak Spanish.
Breakfast was included in the booking ( although it is not varied: toasts, cereals, and that's it... ). With the booking you receive a public transportation ticket that allows you to take all buses in Interlaken during your stay. As well, with this ticket, you are allowed to access the gorgeous public swimming pool that is located close to the Casino Kursaal, at the other side of the river.
Taking into account the high cost of any hotel or hostel in Switzerland, in special in a city so touristic as Interlaken, the quality-price ratio is good ( Example: a Double Room with private toilet/shower inside, 2 Nights on a Wednesday and Thursday in Julio 2015, with breakfast costs 296 CHF - 288 € approximately - booking directly in the Hostel Web http://www.villa.ch ).
If I have to visit Interlaken again, I would probably stay in this hostel again if there are double rooms with private toilet/shower available. Only the other Hostel in the city ( http://www.youthhostel.ch/en/hostels/interlaken ) is able to offer a similar quality with a similar price. Prices in hotels or apartments are very expensive.
