El "Ryokan Murayama" se encuentra a unos 25 minutos caminando desde la estación de tren de Takayama. El ryokan ofrece un servicio de recogida y traslado desde o hacia la estación en ciertos horarios del día. También es posible llegar al Ryokan en autobús, aunque los horarios de los mismos son muy limitados. Otra opción para llegar hasta este alojamiento es el taxi.

Nada más entrar encontramos unas estanterías donde debemos dejar nuestro calzado mientras estemos alojados en el ryokan. Para caminar por el recinto podemos utilizar alguna de las zapatillas que ponen a nuestra disposición.

En el lado opuesto encontramos el mostrador donde podemos realizar el checkin. Sobre todo a última hora de la tarde es probable que tengamos que llamar al timbre para ser atendidos. Los dueños del ryokan hablan inglés, son amables y atentos.

En la planta baja también encontramos un salón tradicional con suelo de tatami en el que se sirven los desayunos y cenas.

El principal aliciente de este ryokan es su zona de baños termales ( Onsen ). Además de los baños separados por género, disponemos de un pequeño onsen para uso de familias o parejas, lo cual no es
muy habitual. La utilización de estos baños es gratuita para los huéspedes.

En la planta superior encontramos una lavadora y secadora en la que podemos lavar nuestra ropa si fuera necesario.

Por comodidad, para alojarse en este tipo de ryokanes, es recomendable llevar una pequeña mochila en vez de maletas. Nuestra habitación se encuentra situada en el piso superior.

Desde la habitación no escuchamos ruidos del exterior, aunque sí del pasillo, por el suelo de tatami y la proximidad de la habitación a los baños compartidos. De cualquier forma, debido al cansancio apenas los notamos.

La habitación Doble Estándar tiene unos 10 metros cuadrados. El suelo de la habitación es de tatami ( entramado de paja ).

La habitación dispone de un armario empotrado con varios compartimentos que podemos utilizar para organizar nuestra ropa. En dicho armario encontramos las tradicionales yukatas, que podemos usar a modo de pijama.

A diferencia de otras habitaciones, esta habitación tiene un pequeño aseo con un baño interior. Para ducharse debemos bajar a la planta baja y hacer uso de los baños termales.

Para dormir disponemos de futones japoneses. No son especialmente cómodos pero para una estancia corta se puede soportar.

La habitación dispone de Aire Acondicionado, que puede resultar necesario para soportar las frías
temperaturas en algunas épocas del año. El acceso WiFi es gratuito.

El mobiliario de la habitación es tremendamente austero. Encontramos una mesa baja para comer o cenar sentados sobre el suelo. Tras un panel japones encontramos una pequeña sala con una TV de Plasma ( todos los canales son japoneses ), una curiosa nevera ( que parece no funcionar ), y una caja fuerte que parece funcionar con monedas.

En mi opinión este ryokan tiene una tarifa elevada para los servicios ofrecidos ( 1 Noche de Jueves por 14780¥ - unos 120€ Abril 2017, reservando en la web Booking.com. La reserva no incluye desayuno ).

Dada la distancia entre este ryokan y el centro de Takayama, y el precio de las habitaciones, si tuviera que volver a alojarme en Takayama buscaría otro alojamiento sin ninguna duda.

English Version

"Murayama Ryokan" is located 25 minutes walking from Takayama train station. This ryokan can pick or drop visitors from / to the station at certain slots during the day. It is also possible to reach this ryokan by bus, although the time schedule is really limited. Another option is to take a taxi to de ryokan.

The reception is located on the ground floor. At the entrance we will find a set of shelves where we should leave our shoes while we are staying in the ryokan. To walk within the building you should use a pair of slippers that the ryokan offers to the guests.

At the opposite site, we will find the desk where you can checkin. Specially in the evening, it is likely
that you should ring the bell to be assisted. The ryokan owners speak english, they are friendly and caring.

At the ground floor we can also find a dinning room and its floor is tatami type. In this area, the
breakfast and meals are served.

The main attraction of this ryokan is the hot springs area ( Onsen ). There are 2 areas gender separated, and one additional area to be used by families or couples. This "private" area is not so common in other places. The utilization of this hot springs is free for the guests.

At the upper floor, there is a washing machine and a dryer, where you can wash your clothes if needed.

It is highly recommended to take a small backpack instead of a suitcase when staying in this king of ryokans.

Our room was located in the upper floor. From the room we didn´t hear the noise from the outside, but we did hear the noise from the corridors, probably due to the fact that our room was closed to the
shared bathrooms and the tatami floor.

The Double Standard room has around 10 square metres. The room floor is also tatami type.

The room has a built-in closet with different spaces where you can organize your clothes. In this closet, we can find the traditonal yukata that can be used as a pijama. Our room had ( not all of the rooms had ) a restroom inside. However, if you need to take a bath or shower, you should go to the
hot springs area.

To sleep, instead of a bed you can find the typicall japanese futons. They are not specially comfortable
but for a short stay, it is ok.

The room has Air Conditioned, and this can be really useful to cope with the cold temperatures during certain periods of the year.

WiFi access is free.

The furnitures in the room are quite austere. We can find a coffee table to eat sitted on the floor. Behind a japanese screen there is a small room with a plasma TV ( all the channels are japanese ),
a very strange fridge ( it seems not to work ), and a curious safe that seems to work with coins.

From my point of view, this ryokan has a too high rate compared with the services offered ( 1 Thursday night 14780¥ - around 120€ Abril 2017, by booking at www.booking.com. This booking
does not include any breakfast ).

Considering the distance of this ryokan and Takayama's city center and the price of the rooms, I would look for sure for other alternatives if I have to stay in Takayama again.
