Noruega - Loen - Loenfjord Hotel

A pesar de que Loen es un punto estratégico para realizar
excursiones a los glaciares de Nigards y Briksdal, la oferta
hotelera es escasa, y además cara. Además de los hoteles en
pueblos cercanos como Stryn, en Loen encontramos únicamente
3 hoteles: Loenfjord Hotel y Alexandra Hotel ( ambos pertenecen
al mismo grupo hotelero ), y el Loen Hotel. De los tres hoteles
considero que el Loenfjord es la mejor opción, ya que el Alexandra
es bastante más caro, y el Loen Hotel parece tener una calidad
bastante pobre. Para que os hagais una idea, el Loenfjord Hotel
es uno de los hoteles elegidos como punto de parada de distintos
circuitos ( como por ejemplo los del touroperador Condor ).

 

Para llegar a este hotel, o bien deberéis disponer de coche
de alquiler, o bien utilizar los diferentes autobuses que
unen Loen con Sogndal o con Stryn. La parada del autobús
se encuentra a 50 metros del hotel

Las habitaciones son bastante amplias, para lo que se estila en
los países nórdicos. Nuestra habitación tenía dos camas, una
pequeña mesa escritorio y dos sofás. La televisión es de plasma.
Creo recordar que no había WiFi en las habitaciones.

El baño es amplio y limpio, aunque el estilo es un poco antiguo.

La reserva incluye desayuno-buffet. El desayuno es muy variado.
El restaurante donde se ofrece el desayuno tiene unas vistas
estupendas, lo malo es que el hotel reserva las mejores mesas
para los huéspedes de los circuitos, y eso no es muy justo.

El personal de la recepción es muy agradable. Varios empleados
hablan español. En nuestro caso, nos ayudaron  a resolver dudas
sobre los autobuses que necesitábamos coger para llegar al
glaciar de Briksdal.

El hotel, como la mayoría de los hoteles en Noruega, es un poco caro.
De todas las opciones para reservar este hotel, la opción
más barata fue reservar mediante del Fjord Pass, en vez de
reservar el hotel directamente o a través de otros portales.

Si tuviera que repetir visita en Loen, probablemente me alojaría
de nuevo en este hotel.

Although Loen is a key point to plan excursions towards
Nigards and Briksdal glaciers, the amount of hotels is really
short, and expensive. Apart from the hotels located in other
villages nearby such as Stryn, in Loen you can only find 3 hotels:
Loenfjord Hotel y Alexandra Hotel ( if I am not wrong they
both belong to the same group ), and the Loen Hotel. From
the 3 hotels, I believe that Loenfjord Hotel is the best option,
as Alexandra Hotel is even more expensive, and the Loen Hotel
seems to have a very poor quality. As a good indication, take
into account that Loenfjord Hotel is one of those hotels chosen
by the tour operators in multiple packages within Norway.

To arrive to this hotel, either you have a rented car, or you should
use the different buses that connects Loen with Sogndal or Stryn.
The bus stop is 50 metres away.

The rooms are quite big, considering the Nordic countries style.
In our room we had 2 beds, a desk and 2 armchairs. There is
a Plasma TV. As far as I remember, there was no WiFi access in
the rooms.

The bathroom was wide and clean, although in my opinion,
the style is a little bit old fashion.

The breakfast was included, and it was really great. The
restaurant where the breakfast is served has wonderful views,
although the hotel normally books the best tables for the
guests participating in a tour, what it is not very fair,
as you paid even a higher rate for the room.

The staff in the reception is really polite. Several employees
speaks spanish. In our case, they helped us to solve some
doubts about the buses we needed to take to reach Briksdal
Glacier.

In my opinion, this hotel as most in Norway, is a little bit
expensive. Considering the different options to book this hotel,
in my case, the cheapest way was to book the room via Fjord Pass,
as it was more expensive booking either in the hotel web site or
in other regular web sites.
